Make the most of your WHA membership by getting involved!  Getting involved can be as simple as helping out at the event registration table, inviting a friend or a colleague to attend a WHA event, suggesting a newsletter article idea, or asking your organization to become an Annual or Event Sponsor.

We are seeking WHA member volunteers to join the following committees:

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee members identify, recruit and nominate prospective WHA members and provide membership development opportunities. Committee members will also help develop and executive strategies for reviewing and retaining existing members.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee members work collaboratively to communicate the organization’s brand to internal and external audiences. Committee members will assist with social media engagement, graphic design and website content development, and public relations activities.

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee members will provide oversight of WHA’s sponsorship and fundraising program, provide counsel on strategy and tactics to evolve the success of the program, assist with donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation. Committee members help plan and execute fundraising activities and special events.

Events Committee

The Events Committee members will work collaboratively to plan and host programmatic events including workshops, tours, galas; single topic meetings to educate, network or provide discussion among the membership about topics of interest and concern; and community volunteer opportunities. Members of the committee will assist in development of ideas, coordination of speakers, costs, refreshments and venue of each event, and will work with the Administrative Coordinator to arrange for registration, distribution of any relevant attendees’ materials and contractual requirements.

Programs Council

The Programs Council will focus on the development and enhancement of mentorship initiatives and internship opportunities. Working collaboratively with other committee members, the Council will play a key role in fostering professional growth and facilitating meaningful connections within the organization.

Committee Members Responsibilities Include:

  • Serving in an advisory role to guide the committee;
  • Expressing ideas and providing input;
  • Actively participating by contributing to the discussion, brainstorming and sharing innovative ideas;
  • Reviewing materials and providing input for improvement;
  • Serving as internal/external linkages for WHA to open doors to further the WHA’s mission and vision;
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the committee work plan.

Please complete the sign-up form to join a WHA committee. We thank you in advance for your commitment to supporting WHA’s activities.
