About WHA
Since its founding in 1981, WHA’s membership has grown to over 200 healthcare leaders working for nonprofit and for-profit payers, providers, regulatory agencies, and support services organizations. Our educational and professional development forums provide a vehicle to learn from key leaders, policymakers, and experts, and to meet firsthand the individuals shaping and influencing healthcare.
We are also concerned with mentoring young women and promoting the visibility of female healthcare professionals. Our commitment to students – the future leaders of healthcare – is thus supported by an annual scholarship program for qualified students in graduate health administration programs. In addition, we promote the visibility of current leaders through our annual Woman of the Year Award, write-ups in our quarterly newsletter, and inviting them to speak at our events.
WHA is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) professional association supported by membership dues and corporate sponsorships. We are a designated Women’s Healthcare Executive Network affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, which provides members a wide network of professionals throughout the United States.
