WHA Networking Book Club – Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty.
This book is “…A grand, devastating portrait of three generations of the Sackler family, famed for their philanthropy, whose fortune was built by Valium and whose reputation was destroyed by OxyContin.”
Join us Tuesday, June 29th at 6:30pm as we discuss the story of the Sackler family, founder of Purdue Pharma, and their role in the opioid epidemic. This is sure to be a fascinating discussion about one of the most destructive public health challenges we face.
This event is free and open to members and non-members. We ask that participants make a donation to Friendly House LA. Friendly House provides women seeking recovery from substance abuse disorders with a safe, structured environment that fosters recovery. Donate at friendlyhousela.org and mention WHA in the comments.
